install source-packages and recompile both the apache and the php4 modules with OCI support. $ORACLE_HOME/lib must be known to ldconfig or at least to your linker.
configure switches: do not use: --with-mysql=%{_usr} --with-ldap=yes --with-imap=yes add: --without-mysql --with-oci8
depending on your glibc you may have to set the parameter LDFLAGS: -lphtread
before installing your very own apache you have to remove the SuSE packages 'rpm -e apache-devel mod_ssl apache --nodeps'
